Part 46 The Chronicles Of Being Sarah Marie

“You Just Can’t Make This Shit Up;

Who, What & How The Fuck Have I Survived The Unthinkable!”

LISTEN!

When someone knows your struggles, knows your plight, knows your pain, your vulnerabilities, your trauma, your disability/dependence on them, your feelings of abandonment, your history and fears with previous relationships, knows and has witnessed the effects that stress has on you emotionally and your physical body, then uses it against you in a malicious way to assert control and manipulate your actions, that is cruelty and abuse.

If you are anything like me, it took me along time before I was willing to, or even wanted to call what was happening to me - “ABUSE”.

There is an immense weight of shame associated with "allowing" the abuse to happen, however, the shame is often misplaced.

Shame ignores the psychological manipulation and power dynamics inherent in these situations, and STILL acknowledging it is abuse feels like admitting a personal failure, a lack of judgment, or a lack of strength to walk away.

Furthermore, many victims struggle to refer to the person they love as abusive, because it is a deeply painful internal conflict to reconcile the person who provides affection, with the person who also causes extreme harm.

This conflict often leads to a desire to protect the image of the loved one, and stems from a hope that the abuse is an anomaly, will eventually stop, or surrendering to, “it’s just the way they are”, rather than calling it what it is.

Breaking the silence on domestic abuse is critical because it shatters the isolation and shame that protect abusers, allowing survivors to access support, reduce harm, and begin the healing process.

Speaking out breaks the cycle of violence, dismantles social stigma, and educates communities to identify red flags, ultimately transforming a private shame into public awareness that saves lives.

I have mastered the art of managing my mind, processing and navigating through painful experiences that were designed to break me, and come out on the other side of it experiencing joy in the reality of what is, reclaiming my power, while discovering my passion and purpose in the middle of it all - but by the Grace of God!🙏🏽

I share my experiences because it empowers me to know what I have survived; an it’s rewarding and humbling to know that my vulnerability has inspired strength and change in other survivors to see their value and their worth!

It’s healing to share the truth!

“When God starts exposing a covert narcissist in your life, it does not happen gently or neatly. It happens with blows so loud that your soul can no longer deny them. The scary part is, you think you’re going crazy when it begins because everything they conditioned you to believe about them starts breaking down in front of your eyes.

The image you worship starts crumbling, and this is where a lot of survivors freeze. They think it’s their fault somehow; they think they’re seeing something wrong; they think they are judging that person too harshly, and they try to return to the old image of the narcissist, only to be broken further and deeper.

But, what if I told you that this destruction of their false image it’s not a mistake, it’s not you being cruel or ungrateful, it’s God shaking you awake, saying, “Look, see this now, because otherwise you will stay trapped in that web forever”?
